Simon Newman, gardener

Get off your lazy bed.
After rising it's first things first and I make a brew before it's time for the daily scrape.
Over breakfast I think about the day ahead.
Here is Christine, my other half.
I saddle up the van and then I'm on site and ready to go.
First I do a little light propagation, before a bothersome pooch called Vegas drops in for a chat.
Get stuck in and try to save the arty jobs for myself.
Then it's time for dinner and a diversion.
Chris Balchin mows the meadow and then it's heads down as the boss is watching. Chris tidies up, before I do some weeding in the rain. Still, it's good planting weather.
I do a bit of thinning out and finally the rain stops.
It's time for the last barrowful and finally the dirt of the day is washed away. But Christine's work doesn't stop when she gets home and I'm really ready for this.
I take time for a spot of catching up, before another fun-filled evening in front of the TV.
Finally, it's a book at bedtime.
